Ophion Shuriken, Straight Shaft

The Ophion Shuriken has been developed to complete the range of Ophion premium whitewater paddle blades. It is based on the Ophion Katana which got advanced to a strong, smooth and powerful foam core paddle. The result is a stable, reactive and light-weight paddle delivering performance in every situation. During the design process, we have rebalanced the dihedral ridge on the power face to stabilise the core, enabling the blade to be smooth and stable. For us, it was very important to retain the blades’ power without compromising its smooth stroke. The core has a composite reinforcing web within the foam to add to its strength. Traditionally and against expectation the foam core does not actually add any strength to the blade, it is purely there for a manufacturing process of moulding the core shape.  Therefore by adding the composite web we now have a core with added structure and strength.
